Dear Jodi,
We all know what an amazing and loving person you were. So many memories of you, one of which was you getting up in the morning (about noon) staggering in to get your cup of coffee, that will always stick with us forever. You would always have to have your cigarette before heading off to work at City Market where you worked for 9 years. You loved your job as a Customer Relations Manager. You were always there with a smile on your face and a helping hand to anyone. On Friday May 19, 2017 you left us way too soon. You were born on April 18, 1968 in St Charles, MO to Ronald Jay and Sandra Bowland.
You were Secretary of the Tooele Chamber of Commerce in Tooele, UT for 10 years. You loved planning all the parades, Christmas programs and a dozen other projects throughout the years. You then moved to Parachute where you became “Mama Jodi” to half the kids in town. Your door was always open to anyone who needed a place to stay, or just someone to talk to.
You were always a friend to anyone and everyone no matter the situation.
You loved camping and fishing with your family. You absolutely loved taking your naps and your snoring could be heard throughout the entire campground, it was one of a kind.
Your greatest love and joy was your grandchildren, Daxton and Emma. You loved spoiling them rotten. You were planning to move to Colorado Springs to spend your days and watch them grow.
Your struggle with your Bi-Polar mental illness was on going. You took enough meds to put down a horse, but you didn't complain. You tried so hard for it not to interfere with you and your children’s lives.
You leave behind your children, Jayce Welch (Jesse Neely) and Joshua Welch of Colorado Springs, Jade Welch (Kory Gordon) of Grand Junction, Parents Jay and Sandy Bowland of Clifton, Grandchildren, Daxton and Emma. Sisters, Shellie Kratzer (Ed) and Carla Johnson (Justin) and Brother, Kelly Bowland (Suzanne), and several nieces and nephews.
You always had a smile on your face, brightening everyone’s days.
The sun is a daily reminder that we too can rise again
from the darkness, that we too can shine our own light.
You are now our light.
Shine on Mama!
We love you,
Your Family
