Dr. Carl Wahlberg passed away August 23rd at home, surrounded by family. He was 93. At his essence, Carl was an educator. After moving to Grand Junction more than 40 years ago, he was passionately involved with Mesa’s transformation from a community college to a state university. Carl, however, insisted that his greatest accomplishments were his family. He was married to Betty, the love of his life, for 68 years. Together, they raised two daughters, Debbie and Carla, and a son, Mark. Carl loved watching his family expand, first with two in-laws, and then with grandchildren, their wives and husbands, and a great grandchild as well.
He was a natural leader and an instrument of peace.
May you be happy,
May you be well,
May you live in peace,
And so it is.
He asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Grand Junction Center for Spiritual Living, or to Hope West Care Center.
A celebration for Carl will be held on September 16th, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Center For Spiritual Living, 251 Colorado Ave. All are welcome.
