Edna Wanzer

Edna Earl Wanzer passed away peacefully at the HopeWest Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, Colorado on August 20, 2015 at the age of 88.

Edna was born on January 27, 1927 to Bane and Thelma (Kirkpatrick) Alexander in Richards, Colorado.  She grew up and attended High School in Cedaredge, CO.  On June 17, 1944, Edna married the love of her life; Delbert Wanzer, in Grand Junction, Colorado.  It was here that they established their home and she devoted her life to caring for her family.  Edna enjoyed Jeep’ing, camping, cooking and playing cards.  She was also a passionate arrowhead hunter, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Edna is survived by her son; Kirk Wanzer of Grand Junction, CO, many nieces and nephews as well as many friends and family members.  She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, as well as her sister’s Ada Mae Burgess and Thelba Dee Johnson, and her two brother’s Wayne and Robert Alexander..

Cremation will take place at Brown’s Cremation and Funeral Services in Grand Junction, CO.  In honoring Edna’s wishes; no public services will take place.
