Helen Powers

Helen Lucille Powers, age 96, died Saturday, December 4, 2021 in her home. She was born October 23rd,  1925 in Detroit, Illinois.

She had been employed as a cook in several nursing homes and restaurants in the Grand Junction area.

Helen was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church in Grand Junction.

She loved cooking, reading, sewing, and playing cards. She cooked for the people in her church once a month for several years.

She was a very loving, generous person and loved nothing more than serving others.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband Benny, son Ronald (Sharon), stepson Steven, and siblings Bud, Virden (Wilma), Gene (Erma), Donald (Bonnie), Corine (Ed), Darlene (Glen), Evelyn (Alvy), Doris (Lloyd), Glenna (Lindell), and Rose (John).

Helen is survived by sons Billy (Tracy) of Montrose, Kevin (Crystal) of Clifton, daughters Shirley (Duncan) of Grand Junction, Deloris of Grand Junction, Helen (Carl) of Grand Junction, stepchildren Lori, Debbie (Robert), and Rick of Illinois, Ron of Grand Junction, 19 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Saturday, December 11th , at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Assembly of God Church, 2945 Orchard Ave. In Grand Junction
