Janet Leigh Remmick, age 61 of Craig, Colorado was admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Co with a serious illness. The Lord carried her home to Heaven on the 21st day of August, two thousand and fifteen.
Born February 4, 1954 in Wichita, Kansas, she was the daughter of Jack Russell Settles of Bedford, TX and the late Dolores Ann Koenke Settles. She was also the wife of Clayton Carl Remmick with whom she spent 19 happy long years.
Following graduation from Newton High School in 1972, she went on to take classes at Emporia State University and has worked in the food industry most of her adult life. Her passions included cooking, baking, fishing, camping, and music. She was a member of the Blue Harvest bluegrass band for many years and can be heard playing the guitar and singing on the band’s CD “Almost There”. The people who knew her best said she never made an enemy. She was very outgoing and her personality would “light up the room”.
In addition to her mother, Jan was preceded in death by her baby sister Cheryl Lynn Settles, her Grandfather Lawrence Victor Settles, and two grandmothers Maxine Settles and Gladys Koenke
Jan is survived by her husband, father, two daughters: Michelle Richardson (Matt), Jennifer Eggers (Bill), seven grandchildren: Christian Richardson, Jaden Richardson, Ireland Richardson, Liam Richardson, Piper Richardson, Kyla Richardson, River Richardson, her sister Deborah Ann Graves (Kevin), four nieces and nephews: Kristin Blankenship (Brian), Stephanie Billeaud (Paul), Matthew Graves (Avery), Makana Graves and four great grand nieces and nephews: Samuel Blankenship, Emma Billeaud, Ella Billeaud and Lilly Graves.
A celebration of Janet’s life will be announced at a later date.
