Joy Jarvis

Joy LuRae Martin Jarvis , age 50, died Friday, November 6th, 2015 following a long illness. Born May 17th, 1965, she was the daughter of Clarence Luther Martin Sr. and Cheryl B. Martin of Grand Junction. Joy LuRae grew up in Fruita and was a life-long resident of the Grand Valley. She worked as a CNA for a number of years and was employed as a carnival worker as a young woman. Joy LuRae was a member of the Life Tabernacle Church. She enjoyed volleyball, singing, and worshipping God. She was outgoing and a fiercely loyal friend who did everything in life with her whole heart. She always did what would be best for her children. Joy LuRae was preceded in death by two children: Krystal LuRae Jarvis, and Hershel Ray Jarvis III, and a grandson: Clarence Dean Jarvis Jr. She is survived by her grandmother, Rosalie Martin, her parents, and two sons: Clarence Dean Jarvis and Jesse Lee Jarvis, and two grandchildren: Jayden Crystal Jarvis, and Clarence Bentley Jarvis, three sisters: Regina Martinez, Melody G. Martin, and Judee E. Fitch, as well as a brother: Clarence Luther Martin Jr. A memorial will be held at Life Tabernacle in Grand Junction on November 21st, 2015 at 1:30 P.M. Please consider making a memorial contribution in Joy’s name to the Life Adjustment Program at Hilltop or to Hope West Hospice. Services have been entrusted to Brown’s Cremation and Funeral Services.
