Paul David Davis
July 13, 1965 – October 16, 2016
Paul David Davis, died October 16, 2016, he was 51. The youngest of five children, he was born on July 13, 1965 in Rangely, CO to Verne L. Davis and Bethel (Waddington) Davis. The family moved to Grand Junction, CO about a year later where Bethel found work at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Paul attended Central High School, graduating in 1983. He lived in Florida for a short time before moving back to the Grand Valley in 1989.
Paul had many jobs over the years and met many people who he was happy to help fix or build anything, especially cars. His favorite hobbies were fishing, working on cars, driving fast, and telling his stories. He was normally a quiet person, until he started talking about cars, for which he had a true passion. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do to help a friend or family member. Paul operated a peach orchard where he picked, packed and shipped peaches. He met many happy customers all the way to Nebraska, where they anxiously awaited Paul’s arrival with a truckload of Palisade Peaches from the Davis Family Farm.
Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, Verne Davis, and two nephews, Jeff Templeton and Philip Polzine. He is survived by his daughter, Amber (Steve) Gustin of Montrose, CO, his mother, Bethel, of Palisade, CO, siblings, Terri Bracera of Omaha, NE, Steve (Tina) of Evansville, Indiana, Janine (Alex) Polzine of Bennett, CO, and Barbi (Mike) Bell of Grand Junction, a step-grandson, Cameron Gustin, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and his constant companion, “Dini”.
Rest well Paul, you can finally be at peace without pain or sadness. We will love you and miss you always.
