Rita Faussone

Rita Faye Faussone, 72 of Grand Junction, Colorado, passed away on November 27, 2017 at her home in Grand Junction

She was born on October 22, 1945 to Reno and Anna Faussone in Montrose, Colorado.  She attended schools in Montrose, graduating in 1963.  Upon Graduation from Montrose High School, she attended college at Colorado State in Fort Collins.  Rita later moved to Los Angeles where she lived until returning to Montrose in 1976.  She worked for the State of Colorado for 25 years, as a Dispatcher for the State Patrol in Montrose and later for the Colorado Department of Transportation in Grand Junction, retiring in 2002.

Rita was an amazing artist in many areas.  Her creativity spanned oil painting, and traditional and landscape quilting, and making clay dishes and figures.  Her favorite and most beautiful works were the landscape quilts. She was a member of Aqua (Art Quilt Association) for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reno and Anna Faussone.  She is survived by her brother Wayne, his wife Nancy, of Jasper, GA.  Four nieces Diane Bearden of Hernando, MS, Laura Faussone of Woodbine, MD, Kayla Nored and Breann Nored both of Grand Junction

Rita will be greatly missed.  She had many friends that loved her dearly.

A memorial open house will be held on Friday, January 26th at 3:30 p.m. at Browns Chapel at 904 North Seventh Street, Grand Junction.

Memorial contributions may be made to Roice-Hurst Humane Society.
