William Dean Nyland

March 4th,1949-October 3rd 2016

Of Grand Junction Colorado, passed away on Monday October 3rd, peacefully at his residence.  He was 67 years young. William was born on March 4th 1949 to Wayne E. Nyland and Inez Marie Fossett in Norton Kansas along the way his family found their home in Moab Utah which is where he completed High School. William then went on to serve our country and enlisted with the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran.  He married Cynthia Lynn Carlsten and started their life in Vernal Utah. During 40 years of marriage they had one child, Jaqus Lewis Nyland.  He spent 45 years in all aspects of the Oil and Gas Industry after retiring this past spring.  William never found a hunting story he couldn’t tell or a fishing story he couldn’t stretch.  His life was filled of echoes of elk rolling of the mountains and searching all depths of life in search of that one giant fish.  William left no rock un- turned and trail missed prospecting throughout Utah and Colorado.  With one shake of the hand and a look into his eye’s one instantly gained a lifelong friendship they couldn’t forget. With Duct tape and a wrench he could build a wall, with a wall and a hammer he could build a home… Our Home. William’s legacy lives on through his Wife Cynthia, his Son Jaqus  and wife Brooke Nyland, their son Dawson, and currently are expecting.  Along with Destiny and Dylan Nyland which were far more than Grand kids to “Papa”. Also survived b Jim (Cheryl) Nyland, Jared, JD, and Tina of Moab Utah. Upon William’s lifelong Desire he will be cremated we will continue to celebrate his legacy in “God’s Country” until we meet again. William will receive full Military honors for his service to Our Country.
