Adam Callow, age 41 of Grand Junction passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital on March 25th, 2017 after an eight-year heroic battle with pancreatic cancer. Adam Callow was born in Royal Oak, Michigan to Rusty and Linda (Bucknarish) Callow, who relocated to Grand Junction area when Adam was four. Adam graduated from Central High School in 1994 and enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. After serving five years in the USCG, Adam decided to pursue his dreams and earned his private and commercial helicopter license. In 2007, in realization of his dream, Adam became the proud owner of Tropical Helicopter at Leesburg International Airport near Orlando, FL and specialized in helicopter flight training, opening a second training school shortly after near Gainesville, FL to service the University of Florida.
Adam will always be remembered and loved by his family including his parents, Rusty and Linda (Bucknarish) Callow, his sister, Melissa Callow, niece and nephew, Kadence and Hunter Valdez, and his nine-year old son, Parker Callow.
A special thanks to the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital. Military Services will be held at the Grand Junction Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 10:00am on Friday, March 31st, 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up an account at Alpine Bank for the benefit of his son, Parker Callow.
