On December 27, 2021 after a long battle with dementia, Alfred Galvan, was finally called Home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ. Alfred was born in Mexicali, Mexico in 1940 to his proud parents Geronimo and Isabel Galvan. Geronimo was a decorated officer of the Mexican Federal Police, Isabel was a devoted wife and mother to their eight children; two boys and six girls. Alfred was the oldest of their eight children.
As a young child, Alfred, would spend his days setting up his family’s large yard for tent revivals, alongside his grandfather Gregory Galvan. He learned his loved of the Bible from his daily devotionals with his grandmother Epimenia Galvan. Alfred’s love and passion for the Lord began during these formative years, and they would only grow into an unshakable and unwavering faith.
In 1959 Alfred, married Cecilia, the love of his life. They were married in Santa Ana, California. They had eight children: Ceci, Malena, Freddy, Anthony, Greg, Alex, Israel, and Stephen. Alfred and Cecilia were married for 61 years, before Cecilia proceeded him home in 2020.
Alfred was long time, highly skilled construction worker, who’s work can be seen on projects ranging from Disneyland, to freeways, to shopping malls all over Southern California. Alfred was a long-time member of the Laborer’s International Union of North America.
After retiring from construction Alfred moved with his wife to Grand Junction Colorado, some of their children also chose to accompany them to the beautiful scenery. Alfred would spend his retirement relaxing and studying biblical teachings with his family, and hanging out with his loyal friend Buddy (a 100-pound pit bull mix). Alfred had an extremely friendly and kind personality. He was patient and warm to everyone he met.
Alfred is proceeded in death by his wife Cecilia, his daughter Malena, and his sons Alex and Greg.
Alfred is survived by his daughter Ceci (Jerry) Avalos, and sons Freddy (Susie) Galvan, Anthony Galvan, Israel (Diane) Galvan, and Stephen Galvan. He is also survived by countless grandchildren and great grandchildren.
