Alice Lorraine Nellson (97) passed away on Saturday, May 15th, 2021 following a long life of aging beautifully.
She was born on February 10th, 1924 in Leadville, Colorado. She was the younger daughter of the late Milton and Alice Thelin of Leadville, Colorado.
Lorraine graduated from Lake County high school. She was a veteran the Army (W.A.C.) having served (PFC) during World War II (1944-1946). She was stationed at Mitchel Field Army Base in Long Island, New York.
Lorraine was employed as a PBX operator at Mountain Bell for a number of years. She also worked at St. Vincent Hospital in Leadville and at JC Penny for many years.
She was a member of the VFW.
Her hobbies included horseback riding, painting and skiing. She was very friendly, outgoing and a bit of a jokester. She was dedicated to her family and was a hard worker, always helping others.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and older son Douglas Raymond Brown (Jacqueline Brown); grandson Kristopher Paul Brown.
She is survived by her son Russell Gay (Aspen) of Centennial, Colorado; Colleen Brown (daughter-in-law, late Doug Brown) of Arvada, Colorado; daughter Lynn Johnson of Grand Junction, Colorado; sister Mildred and Brother-in-law Don Orendorff of Aurora, Colorado; Grandchildren Tammy Tennant (Tom) of West Virginia; Kristopher Paul; Shanna Eaves (Eric Eaves) of Virginia; great grandchildren Mikaiela, Ahrianna, Dantez and Jadzia Eaves.
