Alice Perdue

May 24, 1928 — June 12, 2015

Alice Perdue, 87, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2015, in Grand Junction, Colorado, where she had lived for the past four months. Alice was born on May 24, 1928, in Burr Oak, Kansas to Claron and Anna Francis. She graduated from high school in Franklin, Nebraska, in 1946. Alice moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1947 and began working in the office for the Texas Company refinery. It was there where she met the love of her life, Jim, and the two of them were married on August 29, 1948. Alice enjoyed raising her three children and volunteered at their school activities. She was fortunate that her parents, brother and sister and their families were in Casper. They gathered often for family events. Upon Jim’s retirement, the two of them traveled throughout the country in their fifth-wheel and motor home. Later in their lives, they enjoyed spending the winter with friends in Casa Grande, Arizona. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Rhodes (Earl), sons Dan (Gwen) and Dave (Lisa), her brother, Harold Francis, her sister, Ruth Bon, as well as nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, her parents, and a grandchild. Alice was a member of the First United Methodist Church and volunteered at the church thrift shop. She worked in the office for the Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo. Alice was a devoted wife, loving mother and proud grandmother. She was well-loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Per her request, cremation has taken place. Services will be held in Casper at a later date.
