Alice Rutan

Alice "Jeanne" Rutan, age 89, of Grand Juncton, CO passed away peacefully  February 24, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction.  Born December 27, 1925 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late John and Julia Manton.  Mrs. Rutan earned her degree as a Registered Nurse. In addition to having taught nursing at Mesa College, she had worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction for 37 years.  Among some of her duties over the years at St. Mary's, she had served as Head Nurse on Surgery, Orthopedics, and for a time had served as Director of Nurses.  She was a woman of many interests and achievements, but most significant was when she gave her heart to the Lord.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda J. Rutan, Grand Junction, CO, three sons, Stuart (Suzy) Rutan, Greenwood, WV, John (Terry) Rutan of Fruita, and Michael Rutan of Grand Junction, two sisters, Claire Vartos, Charlotte, NC, and Carole (Robert) Gumbert, Pawles Island, SC one brother, John Manton, Charlotte, NC, twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Services will be Friday, February 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Canyon View Vineyard Church Chapel, 736  24 1/2 Road, Grand Junction, CO
