Alice Wieseler

March 21, 1945 — February 6, 2021

It is with great sorrow that the family of Alice Johannah Wieseler announces her passing on February 6th, 2021 at the age of 75 in Grand Junction, Colorado.

She was born to Arthur Carl (Hap) and Kathryn Marie (Benson) Hackbarth on March 21st, 1945 in Manchester, Iowa. When she was three, the family moved to Carbondale, CO. Alice graduated from Roaring Fork High School in 1963 and on January 23, 1965, married Kenneth R. Wieseler. They had two children, Scott, and Kenna Jo. Alice dedicated much of her time and love caring for Kenna Jo, who was mentally disabled. They operated Kenney’s Pharmacy until 1978 and the year following they moved to Grand Junction, CO. There, she worked in Saint Mary’s Hospital for 18 years.

Alice is preceded in death by her husband Ken (2008) and daughter Kenna Jo (2016) and is survived by her son Scott Allen Wieseler, daughter-in-law Kristine Diane (Drennan) Wieseler, and two granddaughters, Hannah Noel and Sylvie Anne Wieseler. She is also survived by her caring partner and fiancé of 8 years, Bob Wise, and a host of loving family members and longtime friends.

Alice was known for her kindness and ability to connect with people. She brought joy and bountiful love to all lucky enough to know her.

Alice was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) who is assembling a memorial video in her honor. Due to Covid-19, there will be no in person memorial held.
