Amanda Jean Valvoda, 26 of Grand Junction, CO departed this earth suddenly and unexpectedly Thanksgiving Day, November 24Th, 2022 to enter the presence of the Lord eternally.
Amanda was born in Clear Lake, Texas on August 15th, 1996. She was the beloved daughter of David Valvoda and Kathy Valvoda, born into immense love, and a home where the Word of our Lord was first. Growing up, Amanda loved attending church with her family and the youth program Young Life. She was also an incredibly gifted dancer who spent years on the local drill team and taking dance classes. Amanda and her family then moved to Grand Junction, CO where Amanda graduated from Palisade High School in 2014, as well as Medical Prep at Western Colorado Community College. Attaining high marks in all subjects, school came easy for Amanda, always eager to learn something new. In November 2011 at a high school football game, she met the love of her life, life partner, Pierce Yarian. Working through high school, Amanda started working at Walmart in February 2015. Climbing through the corporate ladder and hostile fast paced world of retail. She started in the bakery and after 3 Years was the Assistant Store Manager. Receiving accolades and plaques every month for the top employee and the highest profitability, she had a drive unmatched with the business skills to prove it. When asked how she does it, Amanda was modest saying “it’s not that difficult.”
Amanda loved animals, fishing, hunting, hiking, shooting, cooking, and anything to do with the outdoors in general, often saying it was one of the only places she could think clearest. Amanda also had a love for gold prospecting, just like her grandpa Jim Martin (2013) whom she adored and cherished dearly. Amanda was supported by her family, life partner, and her faith; and felt she could accomplish anything. Amanda was content in life with her family, life partner, and beloved dog, Odin. Amanda was the kindest soul with a warm heart, whose eyes and energy lit up every room she entered. She was dedicated to her family, incredibly hard-working and passionate. Amanda will be missed eternally by her family. Having lost a piece of ourselves we remember to be relieved that she is no longer bound by pain or ailments and is accompanying the Lord in heaven. Amanda is preceded in death by her beloved Grandpa Jim Martin (2013). She is survived by her life partner, Pierce Yarian, of Grand Junction, CO, her parents Kathy Valvoda, of San Antonio, TX and David Valvoda, of Palisade, CO, sisters, Meagan Valvoda, of Port Arthur, TX and Kessa Valvoda, of Nederland, TX, her brother, Travis Valvoda, of Grand Junction, CO, her grandma, Jean Martin, of Port Orchard WA, and her grandparents Joseph and Sally Valvoda, of Frankfort, IL.
