Anna Jane Esquibel passed on January 13, 2015 at 11:40 p.m. on her way to the hospital with complications associated with the stomach, at the age of 61.
She grew up one of seven children, between Colorado and California, she graduated from Bell Gardens High School in California in 1970, and received a Bachelors Degree in education from Metro State University in Denver,
May 1974. She was also very involved in the Hispanic movement in Denver while attending college.
Anna had a life threatening auto accident in the late fall of 1974, after many months in a coma, she stayed with her brother and sister-in-law for over a year, she showed her strength, determination and independence, while not
changing a positive attitude, humorous demur, love for life, she had a great personality, and was very spiritual, while recovering from her injuries, this ultimately changed her way of life forever.
She acquired a very close relationship with our grandfather Damian Montoya, which you could see the gleam in his eyes when they were together, and her older brother in their teen years.
She is survived by her husband David Otero, her mother Lillian, 2 sisters Joan, (Cindy deceased) and Annette,
3 brothers Jerry, Steve, and Junior, there spouses, and 3 generations of nieces and nephews.
This is no way summarizes her life and all the people she touch.
When you hear songs by Crosby Stills Nash & Young, and her favorite, Santana, remember her, she will be missed dearly.
