Anthony Wayne Coonrod

Tony Coonrod, 67, of Edwards, Colorado and long-time resident of Sinton and Portland passed away on July 30, 2024 of cardiovascular disease. Tony was born on December 31,1956 to Clif & Jeannie Coonrod in Sinton, Texas. He was a 1975 graduate of Sinton High School. 

For forty-seven years, Tony worked with and eventually owned Coonrod Electric Company (today, CEC Energy) attaining Master Electrician certification. Under Tony’s leadership, he grew the business his father started, from a small town industrial electrical construction and maintenance company, to a corporation operating in several states employing over 300. Tony was known by his customers as a man of high integrity who demanded superior safety & quality and prided himself on being responsively reliable 24/7/365. Tony's presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through the success of CEC Energy and the impact he had on those around him. 

Tony was a generous man with a kind heart, whose thoughtfulness to those he called friends will always be remembered. His wicked sense of humor and joke telling along with his full laugh are embedded in our memories. In 2021, Tony retired and began his adventure traveling this country and abroad, visiting friends and family, attending NASCAR races, site seeing, hunting, and playing golf. 

Tony was preceded in death by his parents Clif Coonrod and Jeannie Coonrod. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Brenda. His sister Nancy Barnett and her husband Bobby, and his niece Sequoya Perritt and her husband Blake. His daughter Camille Cook and son-in-law Danny, and beloved grandchildren Logan, Haleigh and Austin. He also leaves behind current and past employees of Coonrod Electric and many close friends. 

A celebration of life will be held in at a future date.
