Anthony Ralph “Tony” Vasquez, 50, passed away November 10, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado with his wife Lisa and daughter Nichole by his side.
Tony was born in Price, Utah to Joseph Lewis “Louie” Vasquez Sr. and Lucille Phyllis Sandoval Vasquez. Tony was the youngest of five children. He was a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and grandson.
As a young kid, he was raised in Price, Utah. He enjoyed hunting, riding dirt bikes, fishing, working on vehicles with his dad and brothers. He spent a lot of his childhood with his sister Dorothy. He always said is family was everything.
He had an amazing sense of humor, also was a fun-loving prankster.
In the summer of 1988, he met the love of his life, Lisa Marie Williams. They married on May 20, 1989. They were blessed with three amazing children Nathan, Nichole, Dillen, and a grandchild Cora. Tony was blessed with a child Jerry Lemon before meeting his soulmate, Lisa.
Tony raised his family in St. George, Utah near his sister Dorothy’s family and honorary family Larry and Eleanor Watson.
His home was filled with family, friends, love, laughter, and him teasing everyone.
Tony taught his sons Nathan, and Dillen home to work on semi-trucks and vehicles. He built three motorcycles with Nathan and Dillen.
Tony taught Nathan, Nichole, and Dillen how to drive because he was scared of how bad Lisa drove. Tony was blessed to watch his son Dillen get married to the love of his life, Brandy.
Tony was a truck driver for 24 years, and an owner operator for four years.
He loved having Lisa, his kids, and Cora go with him when they could. He loved making life adventurous, for his family. He loved having is family around him. Tony had a heart of Gold and his love for life was contagious. He loved joking and kidding with his family and friends. He taught his kids to have respect for their mom, and to open doors for her as he did. He taught them to be self-sufficient, how to love, be kind, and non-judgmental by his great example.
Tony had a large honorary trucking and biker family. Some knew him for 28 years. Kenny and Tessa Aston, John and Cindy Gifford, Joe Gifford, Jerome Gifford, Mac Shumway, Jamie Sanchez, Olie and Toyna Olson, Gilbert Madrid, the Madrid brothers, Tony Padron, McFly and Sweetpea, Phil and Annette Hansen, Sharla and Brian Mauck, Nate, and Emily Aston. Theses are only a few, he had too many to name.
Tony had many nieces and nephews that loved being around him. He loved them all. He had honorary grandchildren that he loved and adored. He was so proud and loved his family.
Tony, Lisa, and Nichole moved to Grand Junction, Colorado in May of 2019 because of work. It was sad to leave behind family and friends in St. George, Utah, but grateful to be near his trucking family and Larry and Eleanore Watson again.
Tony was blessed and honored that his son Nathan took over his trucking company for him. He was grateful for his nephew William “Billy” Deeter for helping drive.
Tony took Lisa to Hawaii to angel farms there they met amazing angels that became family as well.
Tony’s family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Mary’s hospital and staff Dr. Walsdorf and nurse Sarah for the care they gave Tony. Lisa, Nathan, Nichole, Dillern, and Jerry would love to thank Dorothy and Pat Sparrow, Amanda and Billy Deeter, John Gifford, Nathan Vasquez, Lisa Miller, Rachelle Miller, and Kasey Miller, Olie and Tonya Olson, and all that donated during our time of need. Tony is proceeded in death by Joseph Vasquez Sr., Lucille Vasquez, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Tony was survived by his wife Lisa, children Jerry Lemon, Nathan Vasquez, Nichole Vasquez, Dillen Vasquez, Brandy Vasquez, Cora Vasquez, brothers, and sisters Dorothy (Pat) Sparrow, DeeDee (Clarence) Vouk, Joseph (Jeannie) Vasquez, Benjamin (Carrie) Vasquez, honorary kids Joh (Sarah) Aston, Nate (Emily) Aston, honorary grandkids Aria, Autumn, Rylee, Nova, Mikey, and Daytin.
Tony’s celebration of life will be held as 838 Westwood Blvd Price, Utah 84501 in the ballroom across from the bar. The ramada Inn.
