Ardella Ann Will Topliss, 85, died June 16, 2016 peacefully with her family by her side. Born November 14, 1930 in Vernon Township, Grant County, South Dakota to Albert J. and Mildred Will.
Ardella graduated from Revillo High School and the Sioux Valley Hospital School of Nursing. She enjoyed her nursing career as an RN for 40 plus years.
She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church where she was a member of the quilting group that provided many quilts for the Orphan train. Ardella was an excellent seamstress, and enjoyed embroidery, knitting, taking pictures at family gatherings, reading a good book and taking traveling adventures with Ken.
Ardella was loving, caring, hardworking and very dedicated to her family. Her grandchildren and her great grandchildren were each considered a special gift.
Ardella married Alvis Lon Edwards in 1953 and they had six daughters: Debra (Kim) Albertson, Fruita, CO, Renee Watt, Grand Junction, CO, Cindy Allenbern, Grand Junction, CO, Barb (Todd) Sires, Port Angeles, WA, Andrea Edwards (Bruce Carter), Colorado Springs, CO, Marna (Gus) Achterberg, Lusby, MD, and Sharon (Brian) Bruns, Grand Junction, CO (adopted 1978).
Ardella married Kenneth Verle Topliss in 1983 who preceded her in death on June 3, 2016. Their 33rd Wedding Anniversary would have been on June 24, 2016, so we have chosen this date to celebrate her life with services at Messiah Lutheran Church, 840 North 11th Street, Grand Junction, CO at 2 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ardella's name to Hospice or Messiah Lutheran Church.
