Armand Austin Lehamnn , age 82, of Grand Junction, Colorado, died Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction.
Born January 7, 1935 in Merrill, Iowa, he was the son of the late Christian and Anna Vorhees Lehmann.
Armand was a veteran of the United States Army having proudly served his country for over 20 years. He retired as Sergeant First Class following overseas assignments in Germany, Tokyo, and three tours in Vietnam. Among other medals and ribbon, he was a recipient of the Bronze Star.
Armand loved all sports but was especially fond of Golf and was an avid Bronco fan. He loved playing basketball with his brothers and reminded them often that “he” was the better player. He was highly competitive and loved winning.
He was proud to be an American, proud of his German heritage and very proud of the Lehmann name. He will be remembered as a soft-spoken gentle man who was always respectful and never judgmental. He accepted everyone just as they were.
He is survived by his brother, Alvin Lehmann of Colorado Springs, CO, a sister, Betty Campion-Theisen of Grand Junction, a nephew, Danny Lehmann, with whom he made his home, and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and scores of friends.
