Barbara June Honeycutt Perez was born in Johnson City TN. Barbara has always been a free spirit and loved to move around. At 21 years old she joined the Army and was trained as a nurses aide. There she met her husband and together they had 4 children. Barbara's passion has always been her family; however, her second love was her guitar. She sang country and western music all her life. She was self taught and played by ear. Her voice mesmerized many and I know she must have a crowd of angels surrounding her now. Her children could sit and listen to her play and sing for hours. Barbara did not have an easy life as she raised her four children alone. She made many many sacrifices so that she could make sure her children were safe and with her at all times. She passed up many professional opportunities because she didn't want to disrupt her children's lives. She had a light surrounding her at all times and made friends everywhere she went. Everyone loved her smile and her genuinely loving personality. Barbara was a rare breed when it came to humanity. She found good in everyone and couldn't kill an insect. She helped any and everyone she could. She loved the Lord and preached his word any chance she got. She read the Bible for hours and always referenced the Bible in everyday life. She did not judge and she found good in everyone. Her strength saved her when she lost her Son to a senseless crime. Her heart remained broken all her life as a piece of her was missing after that. Still she stayed strong and carried on. There were endless obstacles she over came throughout her life... but she remained solid in strength. Barbara was a mother and grandmother first and to her children and grandchildren she was a Hero...she is and always will be our hero, strong and sitting with the angels while looking out for us from afar. Heaven has her now and though our hearts are broken and we miss her greatly already, we know we will hold her hand again. Our mother our friend and the sunshine within. Love you forever Mama, infinity and beyond.
