Barbara Stewart

Barbara Mae Stewart passed away November 11th, 2021 in her home in the care of her loving family. Barbara was born in Longmont, CO on May 15, 1932. She married the love of her life Claude Stewart August 30, 1949. They lived in Leadville, CO for 24 years before building a home in Gypsum, CO in 1974. Barbara retired from the Gypsum post office, then decided to take a “fun job” serving lunches at Eagle Valley High School until they moved to Grand Junction in 1991.

Barbara enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, crocheting, vacations, playing pinochle, and serving in her church.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, her husband “Lee” of 60 years and her 5 children Verain, Claude, Verla, Jacqueline, Darren. Grandchildren Kristoffer Brown, & Amy Stewart.

Barbara is survived by her sister Mary Margaret (Doug) Pfaff of Oregon, sister-in-law Joan Johnston of Greely, sister-in-law Penelope Powell of Grand Junction, Grandchildren Jessica (Tom) Krabbe, Robert (Melissa) Stewart, Jerrad Wilmot, Nick (Tiffany) Stewart, Kassi (Jeff) Larson, Casaundra Stewart, Tisha (Mike) Davis, Brandon, Jacob, Shaun Stewart. Along with 26 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Barbara was a feisty, kind soul who loved her family and friends very much. She’ll be dearly missed.

Services for Barbara will be held at Fellowship church November 20th 2021 at 11am.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hope West.
