Barry Walter Hanzl Sr., age 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 11, 2024. He was born on July 19, 1942, in Bronx, New York. Barry graduated from Irvington High School in 1960 in Irvington, New Jersey.
Barry honorably served his country as a veteran of the US Army - E5 during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he pursued a career as a Work Release Officer and also owned and operated BH Enterprises. In addition to his professional endeavors, Barry made a significant impact as a Foster Parent.
Outside of work, Barry found joy in riding motorcycles and hunting. He had a friendly and jovial nature, always ready to make people smile with his jokes. Barry's dedication to his family was unmatched, and he was known for being a hardworking man who never shied away from taking care of those he loved.
Barry is survived by his cherished wife Gayle Hanzl, his daughter Debi Ungaro (David), and his son Barry Hanzl Jr (Suzanne). He also leaves behind six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.
A memorial service will be held at Veterans Memorial Cemetery, on January 24, 2024 at 3:00pm.
Barry Walter Hanzl Sr.'s, presence will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever be treasured by his loving family and friends. May he rest in peace.
