Barry Ubaldo Sullivan
May 5, 1952 - July 13, 2018
Barry Ubaldo Sullivan, 66, of Grand Junction, CO passed away July 13, 2018, at HopeWest Hospice Care Center after a long battle with cancer.
Born as Ubaldo Claudio PierLuigi Palmas to Aurora Palmas in Florence, Italy, he was adopted by Leigh and Dorothy Sullivan of Grand Junction at the age of nine, and given the name Barry. He was very passionate about his Italian heritage and loved all things Italian, especially fine food and drink. Cooking large meals for family and friends gave him great joy.
He attended school in the Grand Valley and played football for the Grand Junction Tigers, graduating in 1970. He went on to attend Western State College in Gunnison, CO and worked odd jobs before becoming a commercial real estate appraiser in Grand Junction.

He was a family man and his three children and two grandchildren were his greatest pleasures. He loved everything outdoors and the beauty of the world. He never missed watching a sunset or opening the windows and listening to a thunderstorm. He enjoyed golf and was an avid hiker; always exploring. He also had a great fondness for music and sharing songs with family and friends.
Barry is survived by sons, Mario (Shannon) Sullivan of Rangely, CO, and Tony Sullivan of Grand Junction; daughter, Lia Sullivan of Grand Junction; grandchildren, Katy and Baxter; long time girlfriend, Jane Scott of Milwaukee, WI; mother, Dorothy Sullivan of Grand Junction; sisters, Colleen (Stewart) Lockie, and Maureen Sullivan of Grand Junction; three nieces and one nephew. He will also be deeply missed by his beloved dog, Lola.
He is preceded in death by father, Leigh, and brother, Shan.
A celebration of life will be held on August 5, 2018.
