Bernadine Contreras

On January 12, 2019 we lost our beloved Daughter, Sister, Mother, Aunt and best friend. Berna was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in August 2015. She fought a hard battle, went through so many tough trials and tribulations but never gave up. She beat the breast cancer in 2016. She only had a 3% chance of it coming back and unfortunately it did in October 2017, this time being Metastatic Cancer. She was such a fighter, remaining strong and looking forward to many more days with her children. She never let anyone know she was ever suffering or in pain. She lived her life for her kids because they were her everything! She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and raised in Fruita, Colorado, where she met the father of her oldest children Oscar Contreras. They were married for several years divorcing then years later she met Victor Martinez the father of her youngest son. She is survived by her parents Paula (Manuel) Robles of Clifton, Co, and Larry (Veronica) Archuleta of Salt Lake City, UT. Her children Passion (Ryan) Martinez-Contreras, Nikko Contreras and Mateo Martinez all from Grand Junction, CO. Brother Lawrence Archuleta of Grand Junction, CO. Sisters Rosie Archuleta-Martinez, Cruz Robles, Roselia (Efren) Nunez of Grand Junction, CO and Larissa Silva of Salt Lake City, UT. Her nieces and nephews Joslin, Lorenzo, Marcus, Jax, Brooklyn, Madison, Ezekiel, and Mia all from Grand Junction, CO. One great niece Paisley, and great nephew Peyton. Her God brothers Jose (Monique) Marez, Scott (Chelsea) Marez, Chad Marez, and God sister Penny Marez also from Grand Junction, CO. And her very loved friend Jose Silva of Grand Junction, CO. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Berna we will always have you in our hearts, memories and thoughts. You will forever be missed but never forgotten. We Love You.
