Bernice Dunham

Bernice Winifred Dunham, a resident of the Commons in Grand Junction, passed away September 1, 2016.  She was 93.

Born February 19, 1923 in Ossining, New York, she was the daughter of the late Harry Eugene and Sadie Briggs Mansfield.  Bernice graduated from High School in Pearl River, New York.

She and her husband, Robert R. Dunham, would have celebrated their seventy-third wedding anniversary on October 12th of this year.

In her working years, Bernice was employed as the administrator for the Director of Nursing at Morristown Hospital, Morristown, New Jersey.

She was very friendly and outgoing. If a project needed to be done, Bernice was often the person who would volunteer and see it through to completion.

Bernice and her husband spent the first 37 years of their retirement in Florida.  They enjoyed fishing traveling and cruising in the Caribbean.

A resident of Grand Junction for the past 10 years, Bernice enjoyed crafting, watercolor painting, and creating holiday decorations.

In addition to her husband Robert, of Grand Junction, she is survived by two sons, Robert H “Bob” (Diane) Dunham of Grand Junction and Kenneth Dunham of New Jersey and three grandchildren.

In keeping with Bernice’s request, no services will be held.
