Betty Cross

Betty Sue Cross, age 86, died on October 7, 2021, following a sudden illness.

Born September 22, 1935, in Gilmer, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Culberson (Cull) and Mable Nix.

She worked at the Gilmer Pottery for ten years before becoming disabled.

She spent her remaining years living with her daughter and family where she was cherished and loved.

She loved Jesus, gospel music, reading, word puzzles, her morning coffee, sitting outside on the deck, and her favorite programs: The Golden Girls and Bonanza.

She was very sweet and friendly. She never met a stranger. Betty was dedicated to her family and loved helping around the house until she was no longer able to do so.

She was preceded in death by her brothers C.S. Nix, Preston Nix, Paul Nix and Sam Nix.  Sisters Ruth Johnston and Joann Barton. She is survived by her daughter Gayla Sue Anderson (Willie), her sister Willie Mae Arrington, nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
