Betty Schaaf

December 19, 1921 — August 7, 2017

B etty June Schaaf, age 95, of Grand Junction, Colorado, went home to be with the Lord on August 7, 2017.  She had been a patient at Colorado Canyons Hospital in Fruita.

Born December 19, 1921 in Wichita, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Bertha Dunn Bobier.  Prior to her retirement she had worked as an administrative technologist for Boeing Aerospace and had also issued drivers licenses at the department of motor vehicles.

Betty was spunky and had a zest for life.  She was a great cook, pie baker and prided herself on being up on the latest fashion trends.  She never missed an opportunity to have fun or go on a new adventure.  She even won the grand prize for Line Dancing on a cruise ship!

Betty relied heavily on her strong Christian faith. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and loved supporting the missionaries.

She was preceded in death by her son Eddie Albert Wilson.

Survivors include her best friend, Isabel Garcia, to whom she considered her daughter, and four granddaughters, Lori June Wilson, Terri Dunne, Kristin Rubin, and Brenda Farrell.

Services will be Friday, August 11, 2017 at 10 o’clock A.M. at Liberty Baptist Church, 448 South Camp Road in Grand Junction, followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita, CO
