On December 29, 2021 Betty Lou Jane Setzer passed away at the age of 86, following a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born on January 22, 1935 in Lenior, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Julia Kirby.
She met and fell in love with Murray Setzer. They married on November 30, 1950. From this union they had four children, Kenny, Allen (Debbie), Mark, and Renee. They moved Gunnison, Colorado in the 1960’s. Where Betty worked as a waitress at the Cattlemen’s Inn, which she loved all of her customers. She also worked out at Tomichi Village at the restaurant, she cooked and was a waitress. Betty was a kind soul, everybody loved her.
Betty loved the outdoors, she loved hiking and hunting, fishing with her family. Her family was the most important part of her life.
They decided to move to Grand Junction where they had spent the rest of their lives. She mainly worked as a caregiver to special people that need that special touch and caring she had.
Betty has 5 grandchildren, Cody (Stacy) Setzer, Misty (Eddie) Marlow, Jeremy (Katie) Guerrieri, Monica (John) Coleman, Preston (Jennifer) Ballagh, and Jackie Guerrieri. She has 13 great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Murray, her two sons Kenny and Mark and her mother, Julia Kirby.
In lieu of flowers to the family, donations can be made to the Enjoy Church on North Avenue, in Grand Junction.
Memorial service will be held on January 15, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Enjoy Church at 2825 North Avenue, Grand Junction, Colorado 81504.
