Betty Marice Toms

Betty Toms left her family to be with the Lord on November 29, 2016, she was 93 years young.

Betty was born on September 2, 1923 in St. Edward, Nebraska. In 1937, 14 yr. old Betty moved to Pomona, California with her family. She graduated from Pomona High School, and went on to later work for Pomona School District as a Book keeper. In 1957 Betty had her Son Michael. Betty worked hard to give Mike a good life. She was a happy, outgoing lady who was loved by people everywhere she went. After retiring in 1988, Betty worked with her son at the family owned carpet business in Califonia. In 1994, Betty moved with her family to Fruita, Colorado. In her retirement her dedication to her family shined. She was always helping out, whether it be with her grandkids or volunteering in the community. Betty was a lifelong member of the Unity Church.

Betty is survived by her Son Michael Toms (Fruita, CO), Her Grand Children, Jeremy Toms (Fruita, CO), Lacey Toms (Grand Junction, CO) and Krista Miles (Grand Junction, CO). She also has 6 Great Grand Children, Trinity, Hazel, Debhora, Emma, Madison, and Mason. Betty is preceded in death by her Mother- Minnie Swanson, Father-Walter Swanson, and Older Brother- Varyl Swanson.

Memorial Services will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 11am, at Browns Funeral home, 904 N. 7th Street, Grand Junction, Colorado.

In lieu of Flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to Hopewest Hospice, 3090 North 12th Street #B, Grand Junction, Co. 81506.
