Betty Wilt

January 9, 1922 — June 14, 2014

On Sat June 14th Betty Jean Wilt went home to be with our Lord. Betty was born on Jan -9-1922 in Springfield Ohio to John and Marie Baker. She grew up in Springfield, where she met and eventually married her high school sweetheart, Clyde Wilt. She married Clyde Wilt on March 13th 1944. They had two daughters, Claudia, and Bonnie . They eventually moved to southern California in 1955, where Betty owned and operated Antoins Beauty Shop in Pomona for five years in the early 60's. They then moved to Anaheim California where Betty and Clyde owned and operated Tastee Freeze from 1970 to 1975, where the entire family worked. Betty was always very devoted to her family , she loved having the whole family over for dinner and games, and every holiday the entire family always headed to "grandma's'' house for dinner! Betty was the rock of the family. She was our strength, and our peacemaker! She always had a smile for everyone, and everyone was always welcomed at her home! Besides being the best mother , grandmother, wife , sister, and friend anyone could ever have, she was also a very savvy business woman! Not to mention a very talented Beauty Operator for many years! In 1982 Betty and Clyde followed their family to Colorado, and eventually ended up in Grand Junction! Betty and Clyde lived out their retirement years in Grand Junction. They spent those years spending time with family and friends, enjoying their grandchildren and each other! When her husband Clyde passed away in 2007, Betty was devastated and has waited seven years to be with him again. And now she is!! She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, and a nephew. She is survived by her daughters, Claudia Sharkey of Grand Junction, Bonnie Dum of Florida, three granddaughters,Sabra White of Grand Junction, Brenda Smith of Florida, and Bridget Bouwens of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren, Brittany O'Byrne and Shaun O'Byrne, of Grand Junction, Victoria Ross of Grand Junction, Samantha Sanchez and Hannah Smith of Florida, and Camryn and Caitlyn Bouwens of Colorado Springs.
