Beverly Gayle Puhler, age 57 of Durango, Colorado, passed away Tuesday, November 18th, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital following a brief illness. Born January 4th, 1957 in Monticello, Utah, she was the daughter of the late William Arthel and Beverly Elizabeth Leyerly Hodson. Gayle had been employed as a caretaker in the home health care industry. She had also worked for the San Juan Health Department for over 10 years. Her position was with the WIC Program: The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children. Gayle was affectionately known as "the WIC lady". She was a life member of the VFW of Dove Creek CO and a member of the Cowboy Church of Durango, Colorado. Most of all, she was devoted to her family. She loved children and has always been actively involved with kids. In addition to her parents, Gayle was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Hodson. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth C. Puhler, Grand Junction, CO, a daughter, Kassandra Puhler of Fruita, CO, two sons, Andrew Hodson, Ahwatukee, AZ, Corey Puhler, Durango, CO, two sisters, Sandra (Roger) Frazier, Mesa, AZ, Jacque (Robert) Thompson, Fruita, CO, two brothers, Bill (Cheri) Hodson, Mesa, AZ, Ed (Leola) Hodson, Dove Creek, CO, three grandsons, Blake, Preston, and Dylan, and numerous other family members and a host of friends. Friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Cowboy Church in Durango, CO. A luncheon will follow immediately after the service.
