Beverly Stone

February 12, 1938 — August 23, 2019

Beverly Loraine (Weary) Stone, Age 81, died August 23rd at Swedish Hospital in Denver. This followed many months battling cancer.

Born February 12th, 1938 in Denver, Colorado, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Glenda Weary.  Beverly graduated in 1955 from Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, MD.  She also received an MS in Biblical Counseling in 1993 from Lael University in St. Louis, MO.

In 1956, Beverly met her future husband, Donald Stone, in college, and they were married the following year.  They were blessed with almost 62 years of marriage.

Beverly was a very compassionate and loving person - never meeting anyone she didn’t like.  People said that the thing they remember most about her was her smile.  She made friends quickly with that lovely smile!

Beverly accepted Jesus Christ into her life when was in her teens and was baptized in 1957.  Her life certainly reflected the Christian principles as she raised four wonderful children. She was the very epitomy of what a Christian wife and mother should be. She was member of several churches as the family moved about, the latest, for nearly 20 years, was in the Living Hope EF church in Grand Junction, CO.

In Sept 1986, Beverly became the Founding Director of the Crisis Pregnancy Center in St Charles, MO. This passion led her to become involved with the New Beginnings Maternity Home in Winfield, MO, where she served as Administrative Assistant and Staff Counselor.  She was also involved in Christian Women’s Club and Bible Study Fellowship and was Administrative Assistant for the Chapel of the Lake, Lake St. Louis, MO.  In 2005, Beverly and Donald started a website design ministry, Mt. Garfield Software.

Beverly and family loved the outdoors and, therefore, went family camping as often as possible.  After her husband retired, they spent several winters in a motorhome in southern Texas where she loved being on the beach watching the birds.  During the winters in Texas, she and Donald learned to line dance.  After the motorhome years, she and Donald settled in a senior village in 2005 where she enjoyed playing Mahjongg and bridge with other village ladies.  They also held a line dancing class each week.  In her spare time, Beverly could be found at her sewing machine lovingly creating beautiful quilts for her entire family.  Beverly also loved to read, usually 50-60 books per year.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Donald Stone; sister, Diana (Roy) Pitts; 4 children: Chris (Carol) Stone, Ron (Kathy) Stone, Pam (Tracy) Hopkins, and Cindy (Ed) Hood; 8 grandchildren: Josh, Heather, Stephanie, Megan, Jonathon, Becca, Aimee, and Sam; and 12 great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Paige, Wesley, Grayson, Griffin, Madeline, Clara, Waverly, Freya, Willow, Mackenzie, and Wilder.

Beverly was preceded in death by her sister, Toby Vallero.
