Bobbi Rockwell

Bobbi Lou Davis (Rockwell) 62, Passed away Monday September 13th 2021. She struggled with Covid - 19 in the hospital for 2 weeks. She had many other health issues and her heart gave out late Monday evening.

Bobbi was born August 20th 1959 in North Dakota. Her father was William Earl Davis. Her mother is Betty Anne Davis, she lives in Utah

Bobbi is survived by her three children. Her oldest son Matthew Rockwell, who lives outside Denver CO. Her daughter Willetta Rockwell and her younger son Travis Rockwell who both live in the Grand Junction area.

Bobbi did not graduate from high school. She met Derril Rockwell while she was cooking on the rigs in Colorado. Years later she was one of the few brave women that was able to escape a violent situation. She, alone, took her 3 children to Montana to start a new life. Never knowing if he might find them. Even under those circumstances, living with that fear, she always had a job and worked hard to provide for her kids. She worked mostly in customer service type jobs and was a single mother raising her three children alone in Montana. When her kids were a little older Bobbi went back to school. She got her Associates in Kalispell MT at Flathead community College. Then she moved to Bozeman MT with her son Travis. While there, Bobbi graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2011.

Bobbi loved art and nature. She had a passion for her Native American Heritage. She was trying to get a place where she could set up all her art stuff and get her business going. She studied photography, graphic design and metal smithing / jewelry making. She loved to be outside in nature. She grew up way “out in the boonies” as she would say, in Spokane WA. Growing up her family lived a hard life. Living off the land as much as they could, but the home was full of love and laughter. She grew up with her brother Bill and her sister betty. Bobbi was the youngest. Her parents worked hard and gave their kids a strong sense of independence. She always had a garden when her children were growing up. Teaching them about the joys of growing your own food. Bobbi took her children into the wilderness often when they were younger. She took them camping and exploring in Colorado and Montana. She also took them to Pow Wows in both places so they all could learn about some of their heritage. She instilled that love of nature and adventure in her 3 children.

Bobbi was a christian. When they were younger she read Bible stories to her children. She raised her children with love and compassion. She taught them about God and gave them a strong sense of Spirituality. She believed your word was your bond, be honest, treat others with respect. She believed in “ a little  hard work and elbow grease never hurt anyone”.  Everyone who knew her said how kind she was. She never judged others, just listened. She would always listen and offer a hug. She gave the best hugs.

The family will hold a service to celebrate her life at the Heart of Junction in October.
