Calvin Thatcher Shaw age 74 died 14th of January 2021 following a sudden illness.
Born June 9th, 1946 in Frankford, Indiana. He was the son of the late Thatcher and Bea Shaw.
Calvin graduated from Grand Junction high school.
He was a veteran of the US Army having served as Sgt. during the Vietnam war in the 173rd Airborne Division.
Cal was employed as a trash collector for the City of Whittier, California for 30 years.
Cal was a member of the Vietnam Vets/ Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club. He started the Grand Junction Chapter of the Vietnam Vets/ Legacy Vets Chapter D in 2010. He held the office of president for over 6 years.
He enjoyed refinishing antique wood furniture, history, reading the paper, guns, motorcycles and most of all the VNVLV M/C.
Cal was truly one of a kind. He loved his family. He was funny, outgoing and would do anything to help anyone. He was a good friend to many people.
Cal was preceded in death by his parents Thatcher and Bea Shaw.
Cal is survived by his wife of 50 years Jeanette. Son Jason Shaw, Daughter in law Lisa Shaw. 5 grandchildren. Sister in law, Sue Brown. He leaves behind his Shaw cousins, as well as his nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at a later date with burial at the Western Colorado Veterans Cemetery.
