Carmen Maria Anderson

Carmen M. Anderson, age 95, died June 2, 2023, of natural causes. Carmen was born
February 28, 1928, to Baltazár Acosta Mais and Maria del Carmen Acosta (Castillo) in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Carmen attended university at San Luis Potosi, Mexico and Graduated with a degree in Obstetrics. Afterwards she was part of a student nurse exchange program in 1958 at Henrotin Hospital in Chicago, IL where she met her future husband, Hilt Anderson. They were married April 20,1963. Carmen worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction Staying in touch with her co-workers over the years and meeting regularly for luncheons. Carmen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister (Lilia) and four brothers (Baltasar, Roberto, Enrique, and Raul). She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Anderson (Trevin Matlock) of California: Leanna (Donald) Powell of Clifton: four grandchildren: her sister Gloria Kressmen, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial will be held on June 24 at 11 am at the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints at 2949 U.S. Hwy. 50 in Grand Junction. In lieu of flowers, please donate to hopewest.
