Cecilia Gallegos Galvan “Chila”
Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and Friend to All. Cecilia was called home the morning of November 26, 2020 by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. After a long battle with Parkinson’s Cecilia peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her devoted husband of 61 years, Alfred S. Galvan; her sons: Alfred Jr. & his wife Suzie Galvan, Anthony Galvan, Israel Sr. & his wife Diane Galvan, and Cecilia’s “baby boys” Stephen Galvan & Buddy, all by her bedside.
Cecilia was the third youngest of 16 siblings that were born to her parents, Jesus “Chuey” and Ysidora “Lola” Gallegos, of Santa Ana California. It is in Santa Ana where she attended Mater Dei Catholic High School, then attended Santa Ana College, Golden West College, and California State University of Fullerton in order to pursue her professional career as an educator for children with mental and physical special needs. She began her career as a member of Santa Ana Unified School District of California; then retired from her career, after many decades of service, with School District 51 in Colorado.
Cecilia was committed to her personal relationship with Jesus Christ, her favorite quotes, that she often mentioned, were, “The BEST day of my life is when I received Jesus into my life as my Lord and Savior,” and “A clever wife sees through her husband; however, a wise wife will see her husband through.” Cecilia enjoyed reading her Bible on a regular basis and always referred to John 3:16 as her favorite scripture of so many. Cecilia enjoyed spending time with her devoted husband, Alfred S. Galvan, and were blessed with 8 children, 17 grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren. Cecilia is proceeded in death by three of her children: daughter Malena “Nana” Galvan; Sons: Alex and Greg Galvan. Cecilia is survived by her loving husband Alfred S. Galvan her children: Cecilia Avalos of California, Alfred Jr. of California, Anthony Galvan, Israel Sr., her Baby Boy Stephen Galvan all of Colorado.
Cecilia will be missed until we all reunite with her up in Heaven. She would say to The Lord towards the end of her journey here on earth, “Dear Jesus I love Thee in life, I will love Thee in death, and will praise Thee as long as you give me breath. At last I will say when life calls it The End, if ever I love Thee My Jesus, it’s now more than ever.”
