Charles Allan Nelson passed away on January 7, 2023 at the age of 77. He was born on January 19, 1945 in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan (pronounced Sioux Saint Marie) to Arthur and Elsie Nelson.
He had a love for old cars, great music and any opportunity to make you laugh. His Dad jokes were off the charts. He loved fishing, hunting, being outdoors and driving across the country. He'd rather drive 1000 miles than fly on an airplane. As a young man, he worked in his Father's gorcery store, making 25 cents an hour. He would talk about how he worked and saved to buy his first car, a corvette and how quickly he made friends with that new car!
He is best known for his cabinetry work, which he did for over 35 years. He was in business for himself both in Albuquerque, New Mexico and here in Grand Junction, CO. He could take any scrap piece of wood and turn it into an amazing work of art. He would never use a template, only his imagination. He made pieces that would leave you speechless. He was always so proud of what he accomplished and gave credit to GOD for his ability.
He was the last of his siblings to pass. He was preceded in death by his sisters Dolly and Evie and brother Bub.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, daughters Shelley (Michael), Dawn (Michael) and Jessica (Tony). He has 8 grandkids (Danielle, Aaron, Christopher, Jeremiah, Grace, Hannah, Dominque and Jayden) and 4 great grandkids (Bentley, Jaxon, Watson and Carter)
