Charles Marvin Tevis, age 80, died 12/23/2021, following issues resulting from an auto accident.
Born 4/30/1941 in Denver, Colorado, he was the son of the late Ivan Marian Tevis and Lorena Mae Orr Tevis.
Charles was married to Carol (Gentry) Hunter of Grand Junction, CO on 10/26/62 in Casper, Wyoming.
Charles had been retired on disability for many years from the maintenance department of Grand Junction airport.
Charles was a member of First Church of the Nazarene for many years. He enjoyed serving by singing solos for church, funerals, etc. He had also been a member of the House of Prayer for many years where he and his wife Carol sang and helped with shut-ins and Nursing Home visitations.
Charles enjoyed writing and making plaques about Jesus. He had one book published: "Lily of the Valley" a novel under the name C M Tevis. He enjoyed planes and studied everything about them. He loved using flying software and flying all over the world. He also enjoyed Amusement Parks, especially Lakeside in Denver.
Charles was a friendly and outgoing person. He could be friendly with anyone and easily make conversation with them. He enjoyed joking with people about anything.
Charles was dedicated to his wife and it was very hard for him to lose her to death. He has two sons who he enjoyed doing things with. Steven was his constant companion most of the time. They enjoyed church activities together.
Charles was preceded in death by: His dear wife Carol, his parents, Ivan and Lorena Tevis, and two sisters, Audrey and Mary.
Charles is survived by two sons, Steven and James Tevis, their sister, Julie (Hunter) Schafer (Carol's daughter) John (Flora) of Olympia, Washington, William (Karen) and Donald of Casper, Wyoming.
A Celebration of Life, will be held Tuesday, January 4. 2022 at 6:30 pm @ First Church of the Nazarene, 2802 Patterson Rd, Grand Junction, CO 81506
