Cleo Joan Cooley (Peggy) 11/27/1931 - 07/31/2022
Peggy was born November 27, 1931 to Harry Mancil and Rose Ann Thompson in St. Anthony, Idaho where she was raised. Peggy married Fred Charles Cooley August 15, 1953 in Ashton, Idaho. They had 5 children, 4 sons and 1 daughter. They lived in Idaho, Utah, and Arizona as Fred worked highway construction. They settled in Eloy, Arizona to raise their family. Peggy ran the family's business, Cooley's Washarena, and worked at the 76 Truckstop. The family relocated to Grand Junction, Colorado in 1981.
Peggy worked at Gibson's Department Store for 7 years and cooked at The Brass Rail Bar and Grill for 2 years before retiring. After retiring, Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family and helping with her grandchildren.
Peggy is survived by 3 sons and 1 daughter, Alan (Buck) Cooley /(Pat) of Mesa, Arizona, Charles (Corb) Cooley/ (Petra) of Mt. Vernon, Washington, Francis (Frank) Cooley of Clifton, Colorado, and Christina (Chris) Cooley Bohne /(Rich) of Palisade, Colorado. She is survived by 1 sister, Venna Robertson (Texas), 1 brother, Steven Thompson (Clifton, CO), 13 Grandchildren Lucianna, A.J., Rick, Annette, Steven, and their mother Mary, Chelsi, Laura, Brett, Anne, Kelli, Daylynn, Jackie, Andrew, 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. We will all miss her dearly.
Proceeding her in death was her husband of 51 years Fred, her son Jeff, and grandson Kenny, her parents, her sister Lucille, and 6 brothers, Harry, Raymond, Claude, Gene, Buddy, Bill, and Ted.
Service will be September 15, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.
