Corina Ortiz

Corina Lucille Ortiz, age 73 died Sunday May 23, 2021 following a brief illness.   She was born in Trinchera, Colorado August 18, 1947 to Rosendo and Mary Gomez.  She married George Ortiz in 1966.  They had 5 children; George Jr., Bonnie, Donna, Guy and Mark.  They raised their children in La Junta and Rocky Ford, Colorado.   Then they moved to the Grand Junction area in 1986.   During her lifetime, she held various jobs cooking including retiring from Larchwood Inns in 2010.   She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and collected various recipes wherever she could find them.

Corina was preceded in death by her parents, son Mark Ortiz, siblings Bernice Ortiz and Joe Gomez and her husband George Ortiz.

Corina is survived by her sons George Ortiz Jr, and Guy (Teri) Ortiz, daughters Bonnie Ortiz and Donna Ortiz, siblings Rick (Summer) Gomez and Luci Gonzales, grandchildren Alex, Mike, Felicia, Nick, Hector, Ashley, Guy Jr., Michael, Sonjia, Ramey. Jayden, Josiah, Mallakye, Nakai, Marcus, Hannah and Johnny.  Many great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

A Celebration of Life will be held at her sons house on June 5th   11 am to 4 pm at 164 S Orchard in Fruita, CO
