Dan Michael Dillon, age 71 died suddenly October 11th, 2024. Dan was born on the 13th of March, 1953 in North Adams, Massachusetts. He was the son of the late James F. Dillon, Jr. and Lola L. Dillon. His mother later remarried to Al Slepitis who raised Dan as his own son.
Dan was passionate about music and attended broadcasting school in Denver, Colorado to share this passion with others. He was employed as a radio DJ during the height of music in the 1970s, 80s and 90s. He helped form a generation by sharing his love of music with many, and enjoyed meeting some of the greatest names in music and broadcasting, such as Wolfman Jack, Arlo Guthrie, and Joe Cocker. He enjoyed playing guitar, attending concerts, traveling, watching movies, and was always up for a pint at the pub with his friends.
He was, among many other things, outspoken, firm in his beliefs, creative, funny, and kind. He loved to cook, spend time with his family, listen to music, and never missed a question in Trivial Pursuit. Dan was an honorary citizen of Kilkenny Ireland, and was named the Ambassador to Colorado because of his love for the Irish country. He had many friends in Ireland and visited often. He always had a great Irish story to share. His ashes will be sent to Kilkenny, Ireland and spread in the countryside that he loved so well.
Dan is survived by his Wife, Jennifer. His Daughter, Emma (Will), along with his Granddaughter, Georgia and Dan’s sister, Anne (Leo)and his niece and nephew, Anastasia and John.
Dan’s celebration of life will be held at a later date.
