David Alan Maynard, age 66, died the 24th of March, 2021 with family at his side. He was born July 24, 1954 in Denver, Colorado. He moved to Rifle, Colorado in the 1970s where he attended Rifle High School.
David was a kind, generous, friendly man and a loving brother and uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed reading, spending time with family and friends and spending time outdoors. David had a deep connection with our natural environment and strived to do his part in preserving it for others to enjoy. He worked many hours developing and maintaining trails in our parks and woodlands. He worked several jobs throughout his career, including UPS and Paraho, but was mostly self-employed in the construction field. He was hardworking and always available to help someone in need.
David was preceded in death by his father Eual Maynard, mother Darlene Donovan, sister Sharon Forment, brother Kevin Nahler, stepmother Doris Maynard, and dear friends, Carly, Bernie, and best bud, Chaco. He is survived by his brothers, Ron (Margie) Maynard, Charles Beagle (Becky), Robert (Jeanine) Beagle, Richard Beagle, sisters, Sherri Zennier, Sandy Stanley, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services are planned for summer. Some of David’s favorite charities were the NRA, American Cancer Society, and local volunteer fire departments. His family asks that we honor his memory by supporting the Lupus Foundation of America.
