Delaine “Dee” (Huber) Lanning went to be with the Lord on the evening of August 1st, 2019.
Dee was born April 22, 1938 in Loveland, Colorado to Gus and Irene Huber. She graduated from Loveland High School and attended the Denver Business College. She later moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan where she met and married Wayne Lanning.
Together they raised their children in adventurous fashion from Holland and Kalamazoo, Michigan to Bloomington, Indiana to Nuremburg, Germany to Laramie, Wyoming.
Dee was a loving wife, mother and an awesome grandma. She was a generous, witty, caring woman who enjoyed attending church and living out Christ’s command to “Love one another.” She devoted much of her time and energy as a mother and homemaker and her interests included all manner of arts & crafts including gardening, sewing, macramé, and ceramics. As an international student advisor she always got a good laugh at her role of assigning birthdates to international students who had no idea when they were born!
Delaine is survived by her husband, Wayne of Grand Junction; her son, Jeff (Anita) Lanning of Oakwood, OH; her daughters, Kim (Jim) Dolezal of Mountain View, WY and Amy (Ben) Jonker of Muskegon, MI; her son, Matthew (Kimberly) Lanning of Grand Junction; grandchildren, Cole, Kiley, Casey, Kaylor, Riley, Christian, Luke, Brooke, Aaron, and Ian; great-grandchildren, Myla, Ester, Bella, Henry, Carson, Wyatt, Winston; brothers, Vern (Marcia) Huber and Bill (Carol) Huber, and sister, Jane Heemstra. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Irene Huber and sister, Verleen.
A Funeral service will be held on August 6, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Royston officiating at Monument Presbyterian Church in Grand Junction, CO.
