It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Saturday, January 28, 2023, Delsie Rathbone, loving mother and grandmother of 5 grandchildren, passed away at the age of 55. She fought a long hard battle with terminal cancer.
Words cannot even describe how amazingly wonderful of a Ninni (grandmother) she was. Yes, she was a great mother and great friend, but she shined and lived for her grandbabies, Chandler, Addison, Ruhnezmae, Kaison, and Oliver. Her whole world revolved around making memories with them. Any conversations she had with friends, family, coworkers and even strangers led to her grandbabies and how proud she was of them and how lucky she was to be their Ninni.
Delsie was known for her spunky sense of humor and wit. Even through her battle she never lost that spunk. She loved a good laugh and was always known for laughing at her own jokes no matter if anyone else thought they were funny or not. She loved her Sunday night football and watching her Packers play especially with family and friends around to banter and spend time with. Summer times were always spent in her yard with the grandbabies in the pool and she was taking care of her beautiful flowers and plants. Her favorite and basically only holiday was Christmas. She loved the joy of decorating with all the kids and spreading the cheer and praying for a white Christmas to see the beautiful lights in the reflection of the white sparkly snow.
Delsie is survived by daughters, Marqie Webster and Cassi Stover, son-in-law, Jeremy Stover, 5 grandchildren, sisters, Sheri Parker and Dianne Rathbone, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by Paul Rathbone, father, Ruby Rathbone, mother, Thad Webster, son-in-law.
A celebration of life service will be held February 25 at 2:00 pm at Grand Junction First Church of the Nazarene (2802 Patterson Road).
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Huntsmans Cancer Institute would be appreciated by the family.
