Donald Henderson

Donald Ray Henderson , age 78, died Saturday, September 25, 2021, in Grand Junction CO following COVID and a heart attack.

Born May 10, 1943 in Dallas Texas, he was the son of the late Glenn & Polly Henderson.

Don graduated from Northwest high school, class of 1961, in Justin, Texas.

He grew up in Justin and worked for the family business, Henderson Oil & Butane Company and eventually was co-owner.  He drove trucks long distances, could fix just about anything, ‘retired’ to farming & ranching, and loved hunting deer and elk and finally re-retired to Gunnison, Colorado.

Don was a member of the Gunnison Church of Christ and previously, the Justin Church of Christ.  He was dedicated to family, honest, hardworking; he was known as the man you could rely on.  Avid reader.

He was preceded in death by his brother Chris Henderson, his son, Jeffrey Don Henderson and his sister, Betty Sue Ingram.

Don is survived by his spouse of 60 years, Joan Henderson, his daughters, Sheri Woodall  and Nancy Smith, grandchildren, Jessica, Jake, Burchelle, Josh, and Jeff, and 4 great grandchildren, and his sister Glenda Henderson.

A memorial gathering will be announced at a future date.
