Donald Klaversma

Donald John Klaversma passed away January 31, 2021 at the age of 94 in Grand
Junction,Colorado. He was born in Denver, Colorado on December 12, 1926 to Douwe “Ted”
Klaversma and Everdeen “Ethel” Swart Klaversma. He was preceded in death by his parents
and sister Marion Klaversma Stuursma.
Don had many jobs during his adult years which included hauling coal, owning his own service
station, and putting up signs for local real estate agents in Grand Junction.
Don moved to Grand Junction from Denver after retiring to fulfill his dream of being able to
wander the beautiful western slopes of Colorado. He enjoyed reading, talking with friends and
family, and he loved to find garage sale treasures of all kinds.
Don is survived by his daughter Dianne Klaversma Whitmill, sons, David (Laura) Klaversma,
Donald (Karen) Klaversma. Grandchildren, Angela (Tyler) Monson, Nicole (Chris) Snelgrove,
Jennifer (Tom) Peterson, Amanda (Collin) Earl, Bryan (Brooke) Gogarty, Christina (Jared)
Wandry, and Heather Young; Great grandchildren, Hunter, Jakob, Lily, Tori, Brayden, Marlee,
Sophie, Lizzie, Logan, Kenna, Owen, Gavin, Liam, Isaac, Jamison, Greyden, Elise, Cole, Allie,
Vanessa and Ryan; and nieces and nephews.
Family services will be held in the coming days and Don requested that donations be made to
the charities of one’s choice
