Donald Petersen

Donald Gordon Petersen, age 82, died Friday, June 29, 2018 following a brief illness.  Born June 15, 1936 in Watsonville California, he was the son of Harold and Beula Petersen.  He was a veteran of the US Navy, and had a variety of careers following his service including owner operator of a steam clean/pressure wash company, Avis Car Rental shuttle driver and relief manager for Motel 6. Living a the first half of his life in California and the second half in Colorado. Don’s had a great love of the outdoors and treasured his time on the Grand Mesa hunting,, fishing and camping.  He also loved square dancing with his wife of 39 years, Liz and card games games with friends. Don was known for his quick wit, and off-color jokes, and well as his dedication to hard work, which was in evidence as he continued to work until the age of 81. Don is survived by his spouse Elizabeth Peterson, Son’s Brian (Angela) Petersen, Eric (Linda) Petersen, step-sons Wayne (Anita) Warren, Walter Warren, Roger (Brenda) Warren, and step-daughter Laurel (Mike) McMullen as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Memorial services will be set at a later date.
