Donald Patrick Wood, age 63, passed away January 30, 2021 following a long illness.
Born to the late Earl and Lucille Wood on November 16, 1957, Don grew up with family in South Gate, California.
Don graduated from South Gate High school in South Gate California. He served as the assistant fire chief and as an EMT for the Newberry Springs Fire Department.
Don attended mechanic school in the early 1990’s, and was employed as a mechanic his entire life.
Don enjoyed riding his Harleys and going to Sturgis Harley rally among other events on his motorcycle. He also enjoyed the outdoors and going camping. He spent his life enjoying what nature had to offer.
Don was a very caring and outgoing man. He knew how to love and showed it to everyone around him.
Don valued his family most of all in life, he loved spending time with his boys and his grandkids. His life revolved around his granddaughters since the day they were born. He also enjoyed spending time with his brother and riding their Harleys together.
Don was married to his first love Sue for 25 years and shared two sons Brian and Robert together.
Don is survived by his two sons Brian and Robert, their wives Loretta and Amanda, his grandkids, Hailey, Hanna, and Anora, and his brother Mike and wife Melody.
Don's final days were lived out with his family by his side. He passed in Grand Junction, Colorado in the house he shared with his two sons and family. We are glad that even though his life was cut short he was able to be loved in his final days by the people that meant the most to him. He will be missed by all, but his memory will live with all of us forever.
Don’s ashes will be spread with his mother and father in Newberry Springs, California at his request
